Description
This listing is for a vintage primitive duck decoy recently purchased from a local estate sale in South NJ. It was made in the 1970s at the Wildfowler in Pt. Pleasant, NJ. It is made of hand carved wood and hand painted and is not signed. The body is solid and the head is attached at the base of the neck. It has painted black that has faded to gray with dark gray and white accents. There are glass eyes. The bottom has a nailed metal plate and leather tab. It is not signed but there are faint initials on the bottom---looks like "HII" or "IIH". It measures 17" from the tip of the tail to the tip of the beak and 9" tall. Condition: This was a working decoy and has a lot of wear and tear, missing paint, cracks in the duck and crackling in the paint and more. There is a crack in the neck and damage on the top of the head from being retrieved by a dog. See close up photos.
