Description
This auction is for an exceptionally nice very early style original drake mallard duck decoy by the famous Mason decoy factory out of Detroit Michigan circa 1910s. The Mason Decoy Factory was the best of the best when it came to producing quality wooden decoys over a century ago and their decoys remain very collectible. I buy and sell a lot of Mason decoys and I rarely see one with this kind of excellent original paint. He is in very good structural condition with a couple of very tight body checks. He is missing most of his original neck filler which leaves a separation between the body and the neck. He is in excellent original paint with some beautiful breast swirling. This is a very early head style mason with a pronounced sloped breast. He has his original glass eyes and a lead strip ballast weight. Don't miss out on your chance to own this excellent 120 year old Mason mallard. He is approximately 16 inches long. The shipping cost stated is for the lower 48 states. Please check out my other auctions as I will be listing lots of old decoys and sporting collectibles in the coming weeks and months. I would be happy to combine shipping costs for US winners of multiple auctions. Good Luck!
