Description
This is an interesting and unusual hollow black duck. It has a large wide body and is about 16 inches long. Thin bottom board and numerous coats of old gunning paint. It has no eyes and has an oval, tilted and splayed neck seat. The head is both turned and tilted to the side which is something not often seen in decoys. Bill is intact. Not sure of it's origination. In talking to fellow collectors, it has been suggested that the origination might be from Maine, one of the Eastern Canadian Provences or even from Europe. Nevertheless , it is an interested and unusual decoy that displays well. Look at photos for condition. Thanks.
