Description
JOHN BLACK GRAHAM, 1822 to 1912. Charlestown,, This Cecil county decoy maker is one of the most importain carvers of the upper Chesapeake bay. He was a boat builder from a large family of boat builders, and is generally credited with establishing the Cecil county style of decoy. Those features primarly consit of a rounded yet flat bottom, a slight neck seat and a paddle tail. He made all the different ducks and some geese All the decoys that I have seen have been repainted many times with painted eyes. Great decoy for the serious collector. See "WATERFOWLING on the SUSQUEHANNA FLATS" BY Mike Daley for more history.
