Description

JESSE BAKER (1888 to 1961) Trenton, Ontario, Canada Here is a carver who carved for over twenty years ,1930 through the 1950's, making over 3000 decoys. This preening black duck is the first I have seen in this style. All have a low solid body, often swaybacked in shape and little detail to the head carving. The bill has been broke at one time and repaired. Few shot scares on one side. Good example by this maker
