early H.V. Shourds black duck decoy Tuckerton NJ ca. 1885 An early hand carved hollow cedar black duck decoy by the famous decoy carver Harry V. Shourds ( 1865-1924) from Tuckerton, New Jersey ,an early low tail model called a drop tail, circa 1885. Measures 16 inches from the tip of the bill to the tail, tack eyes, in leaded ballast weight, leather anchor tie, 3/4 of the bill has been restored ( new), and a couple cracks in the neck repaired, worn old in use paint with touch up painted in ares - mostly the head, approx. 40% new paint. Guaranteed to be as described/pictured. NOTE; 1.most of the shine on the decoys is from the camera lights The picture s are part of the description.
